Direct answer

What this workflow covers.

01

Generate extra in-between frames before slowing down footage on an editing timeline.

02

Estimate the charged xeconds before render so short tests stay predictable.

03

Use 48fps, 60fps, 90fps, 120fps, or 240fps cinematic slo-mo targets depending on the source cadence and final edit.

How it works

Prepare footage for smoother slow motion

Slow motion needs enough distinct frames to stretch time cleanly. Interpolating first creates more motion samples for the editing timeline to play back slowly.

  1. 01

    Decide the slow-down

    A 120fps output gives a 2× slow-down on a 60fps timeline; 240fps gives a 4× slow-down.

  2. 02

    Generate the intermediate frames

Choose the target based on the final timeline rather than selecting the largest number by default.

  3. 03

    Finish in the editor

Download the high-FPS result, interpret it at the timeline frame rate, then trim and grade as usual.

FAQ

Useful answers, without the filler.

What is ai slow motion prep in ReframeFX?

Create smoother source material for slow-motion edits by adding in-between frames first.

Does ReframeFX show the cost before rendering?

Yes. ReframeFX charges whole input seconds at the target-FPS band: 1× up to 60fps, 2× for 61–120fps, and 4× for 121–240fps.

Can I use ReframeFX without installing desktop software?

Yes. ReframeFX is a browser and API workflow for cloud frame interpolation.

Does changing FPS change the video duration?

No. Frame interpolation adds motion samples while preserving playback duration. Higher targets can also be interpreted at a lower timeline FPS for slow motion.
